Publication Officer

Fatima Abdurahman Abdullahi

Fatima Abdurahman Abdullahi is the Publication Officer of the Somali Humanitarian Magazine (SHM). In this role, she plays a vital part in shaping the magazine’s editorial voice and ensuring that every published story reflects the dignity, depth, and lived experiences of the Somali people.

With a strong background in community engagement and media coordination, Fatima brings both passion and precision to her work. She works closely with contributors, editors, and local storytellers to ensure that each article is clear, compelling, and rooted in truth. Whether stories come from displacement camps, rural villages, or urban neighborhoods, Fatima ensures they are handled with care and integrity.

Fatima is particularly committed to elevating voices that are often overlooked — especially women, youth, and those affected by crisis. She believes that publishing is not just about producing content; it’s about opening doors for dialogue, representation, and empowerment.

As Publication Officer, she oversees the magazine’s editorial calendar, supports young writers through mentorship, and helps maintain high standards of ethical storytelling. She also collaborates with the Executive Director and volunteer teams to grow SHM’s reach and impact.

Fatima’s work is central to SHM’s mission: to be a Somali-led platform where stories matter, voices are honored, and truth is told from the inside out.
