Mohamed Mohamud Ali is the Digital Innovation Specialist at the Somali Humanitarian Magazine (SHM). He leads the magazine’s digital development and ensures that our platform remains accessible, user-friendly, and modern. Mohamed plays an important role in connecting technology with storytelling — helping us share voices from the ground with both local and global audiences in a clear and creative way.
He is responsible for designing, managing, and improving SHM’s website and online systems. Whether it’s publishing articles, uploading PDF reports, embedding videos, or organizing photo stories, Mohamed makes sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. His work helps ensure that every story is easy to find, easy to read, and well presented across devices — from mobile phones to laptops.
Beyond the technical side, Mohamed also advises the editorial and design teams on using digital tools for better storytelling. He supports new ideas like interactive maps, audio stories, and digital archives — always thinking about how SHM can reach more people while staying true to its mission.
With a background in digital media, innovation, and humanitarian communication, Mohamed brings creativity, strategy, and purpose to his role. He believes that technology should not replace human connection — but rather make it stronger.
Thanks to Mohamed’s guidance, SHM continues to grow as a digital-first, people-centered magazine that puts Somali voices at the heart of every story.
